The Tale of Rochelle and Scott 2011 Edition

For those of you who are not my adorable husband, let me give a little back story to this post. Back in the Summer of 2000, when Scott and I were dating, we used to write each other poetry. Yes, we're dorks like that. Anyway, Scott wrote me a poem that to this day I LOVE. Its silly and sweet, and makes me smile whenever I read it. Here's a picture of it from my scrapbook. (I know you can't read the fine print, but I was unwilling to type it all out for you).
Well the end of this month marks the 12th year since Scott told my friends I was gorgeous and then started flirting it up like crazy in seminary. To commemorate this I wrote Scott a new poem based on the old one I love so much. So without further ado....

THE TALE OF ROCHELLE AND SCOTT
2011 EDITION
The two love-birds who escaped the hollow tree to rampage on the unsuspecting victims of a nearby aviary of fluttering birds surrounded by a stunning array of nest covered trees. Some might say that such a center for eye-pecking and inconspicuous alliances would be ideal for such growing habits of the aforementioned trees that engulf the unsuspecting victims of the aviary. They are wrong. They suck.

(The previous story has been made up for all intents and purposes of being funny. The following poem is for serious intents only)

Well we've been on this road for twelve happy years,
And i will not complain because you've been a dear,
We've stirred up our lives like a big bowl of chili,
And live how we want 'cause it works to act silly,
And the wrinkles on our skin that will soon come around,
willl make great additions to the gray hairs we've found,
And often we've had to be tight with our cash,
But we're experts at living on cans of who-hash,
As our bodies get old and our skin starts sagging,
And our kids roll their eyes at our incessant nagging,
I will look to my spouse and say with a smile,
We have a great life I hope we live for a while,
Then on to forever, being happy each day,
I will always say I love you, and I'll never go away!

Ha Ha! You are so fun! I can't believe this poem has survived this long! And what is this, the 3rd or 4th version?! I'm glad the first version means so much to you! I love you babe, and I love getting old in these poems with you!
