Today was Miss Ivy's 4 month checkup. It's hard for me to believe that it's already been 4 months, she still feels like a newborn to me. The doctor thinks that she is doing very well developmentally, but he is a little concerned about her weight, surprise, surprise. Here are her stats:
Weight: 10 lbs (3rd percentile)
Height: 23 inches(10th percentile)
So yeah, she's small, still very close to newborn size, which probably explains my feeling like she's still a newborn. Anyway, to get her weight up the doc recommended we start giving her rice cereal once a day. I really hope that works, cause I'm getting sick of this weight issue!! Other than that all is well.
So since Ivy is now 4 months, I just thought I'd give an update on other stuff, besides stupid weight.
Ivy is very happy, she is always smiling and silly, and is hardly ever in a bad mood. She is holding her head up like a champ, and is working on getting used to laying on her side rather than her back. She hates tummy time, it makes her cry until she turns blue. Her favorite toy is her little monkey mat with its dangling monkey, zebra, and mirror. She likes to grab hold of the zebra, and gets frustrated when she can't get him. She still enjoys spending time with her pacifier, only now she gets mad because she can pull it out of her mouth, but can't put it back in. Her favorite person in the house is, of course, her mommy. She actually cries when I leave the room sometimes. She is fascinated by her crazy, out of control brothers. She could stare at them for hours while they play, fight and cry with one another. She is always happy to see daddy when he gets home from work, and loves for him to hold her for hours on end.
She is one sweet girl and we are happy to have her in our family!!

I'm glad she is doing so well. I love all the pics of her and can't wait to see her in about a month!
I am sure Ivy is doing well, because she is in the best family she could ever have. I bet her brothers keep her entertained. And of course she loves you, and cries when you leave ,she knows who takes such super good care of her. I'm glad she is doing so well. Pat yourself on the back you are doing a great job.
Ryan weighed 5 lbs at 5 months old when she came home, so I think she is doing just fine. The rice cereal will help, that is how we put weight on Ryan, we would even mix 2 teaspoons in with every bottle.
Well she sure is adorable. Glad to hear she is doing well. You are an amazing mom.
I can't believe she four months already!! You are doing an awesome job, both of you! I looked in Paytons baby book she weighed 9 lbs 3 oz at her 4 month checkup! I think Ivy is doing just fine, beautiful little girl!!
I can't believe how big and gronw up she is looking! She is on the chart for her weight so I think that is good. You are doing a great job she sure looks happy.
Wow! She sure is a cutie, she looks more like a little person than a newborn, how fun. Don't worry about the weight, I'm sure that rice cereal will help. She looks great to me!
What an adorable picture!!!! I love it.
So fun to hear all the big stuff she's doing these days. How cute that she is so fascinated with her brothers.
(I know you hate this weight thing and I'm so sorry! My kids have all been UNDER the 1% until they're like 2 yrs. I know it's good for doctors to check stuff but there is a reason there is a range. Good luck with dealing with the nurses/doctors.)
