Spider in the kitchen!

Okay, so most people who know me know that I have a HUGE fear of spiders. It's completely irrational, and sometimes gets to the point where I think I might need counceling to snap out of it. Anyway, I dread spotting spiders in the house when Scott is at work, because I am not fully capable of killing them myself. I tend to cry and flip out and lock myself and the kids in another room, or just leave the house all together for the entire day til Scott gets home. Anyway, now that you have the back story, here is what happened.
Yesterday, while I was reading blogs oddly enough, I spotted a spider on the kitchen ceiling. This was no little spider, it was probably the size of a nickle, and he was fast, running from place to place. The worst part was he was twitchy, like a jumping spider. I immediately panicked and told the kids to stay out of the kitchen, and tried to figure out what to do. I texted Scott to come home and kill it for me (crazy right!) and he politely declined and told me to just spray it with some raid (he's so patient with my craziness). I told him I couldn't cause it was on the ceiling and would fall or jump on me. I considered packing the kids in the car and taking off, but I had my visiting teachers coming in like an hour and I couldn't just ditch them. So instead I sat on the couch and watched him crawl all over for about 45 minutes. I couldn't take my eyes off of him for fear of him coming to get me. Anyway he finally moved from the ceiling to the wall and I built up all my courage and took advantage of the situation. I grabbed the raid, stood on a chair (as far away from him as possible) and sprayed the crap out of him. (p.s. I know raid is not the best thing for a prego to be using, but I didn't breath it in!) Happily, the spider did breath it in and died! I killed it all by myself without crying!
The story doesn't end there. I was trying to explain to Scott what the spider looked like, so we looked for a picture of it online (pictured above). By-the-way it was a jumping spider, the worst kind! But while we were looking for the picture we came across......

This creepy little guy, it is the grossest spider ever. It actually gave me a nightmare and I had a hard time sleeping. The ones in my nightmare were about the size of a baseball, and I don't think the real ones are anywhere near that big, but those eyes just freaked me out! You probably thought I was exaggerating about the fear being huge, you have no idea!

That is so disgusting Chelle! From one spider hater to another, good job! Shane usually comes home and I have one trapped under a cup or the house reeks of Lysol cuz I sprayed it to death. I just found out at Brax's school today that this year the kids will be given a caterpillar to watch turn into a butterfly! They are high as a kite if they think it's coming into my house!

No, I know. I didn't think there was anyone else in the world like me but that was like reading something out of my journal! Seriously. I'm right there with you in wondering if I should go to counseling or something! I'm so proud of you for killing it. Good JOB!

I am sorry you are so scared, but at the same time that was freakin hilarious. I love that you will pack the kids up and leave, that is great. Sorry about the nightmares. You crack me up! Sorry I should be more supportive, good job killing it by yourself :)
