What a difference 5 years makes

Scott and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary today. We can't believe it has already been 5 years, it still seems like yesterday that we met in seminary, which was actually almost 9 years ago. So here we are, both at least 30 pounds heavier, 2 1/2 children, 2 houses, and 6 moves later. We have yet to have a big fight, and we've barely had any little fights, I can only think of two minor disagreements. It really has been a great life so far, and we are both happier than we have ever been. I can't believe I managed to get the most awesome husband in the world. You know you are jealous!

And for our anniversary I managed to talk Scott into giving me the gift of knowing the sex of our new baby. He was pretty hard to convince, but eventually he gave in. I was getting stressed about what to bring with us when we go to have the baby (among other things), and I just wanted to relieve some of it. So today, we had our monthly ultrasound, and found out that our little baby is a girl. I have to admit I shed a tear or two of happiness to finally be getting a girl, but it was bittersweet knowing what she will have to go through in life. And for those of you that are wondering, no, her heart did not fix itself. That would be one heck of a miracle since it isn't even possible, and we weren't expecting it to happen. The ultrasounds are just to make sure the baby is growing like it should in all other areas, which it is. We are thankful for that. Here are a couple of ultrasound pictures for you to see, the first shows her femininity, and the second is of her cute little face. Enjoy.

I'm so happy for you two! And like you say it's bittersweet, but all little girls are special in their own way anyways. Congrats!

Yay a girl, we love girls! I didn't realize that you guys were married the same year that we were. I am amazed and inspired by your lack of fighting, we don't fight, but we argue. I also can't believe you have moved 6 times in 5 years, that is a lot. Hope can stay put for awhile.

Happy Anniversary! I remember when you guys met in seminary, oh so fun!! Glad to hear it's been amazing, and wonderful things to come.

So fun you got to find out you're having a girl (good boy Scott for letting her know!). Girls are so great! I have lots of girl stuff, do you need anything?? How are you guys doing??

Congrats on having a girl. That is fantastic.

And I am also impressed at the no fighting thing. You must just balance each other well -- or you are really patient or something. I admire that. We are the opposite of you. We've only moved ONCE in our 10 year marriage but we argue or disagree plenty :) But we keep it civil and calm usually.
