Today Scott and I celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe its already been 9 years. It feels like yesterday we were saying, "I do" in Marde's backyard in 100+ degree weather with sweat running down our backs and the winds knocking everything over. I was so happy that we had made it to our wedding day after dating for 3 1/2 years, and I've been so happy ever since.
Scott is my best friend, a wonderful husband, and an amazing father. I love him more today than I did 9 years ago, and our love continues to grow as the years go on. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
Here's a completely pointless, yet funny story to share about our newlywed days in our teeny apartment in Ogden, UT. I promise its nothing kinky. We hadn't been married long (maybe a couple of months?), when Scott's little brother, Shawn stayed at our house overnight for some reason. In the morning, Scott got in the shower while Shawn and I ate some cereal. A few minutes later Shawn asked me to get something for him in the bathroom while Scott was showering (for the life of me I can't remember what he needed, but its not important to the story anyway). I said, "You get it, there's a shower curtain, its not like you're going to see him naked!" and he refused for fear of doing just that, so I finally relented and went into the bathroom to get the item. As soon as I opened the door the shower curtain suddenly CRASHED to the ground. Scott screamed like a girl and tried to hide his private area's. I fell to the ground laughing at the weirdness of the situation. What are the odds the shower curtain would fall right as I walked in the room? It was so funny! If Shawn had gone in to get the item like I told him to, he for sure would have seen Scott naked, and they both would have been horrified. We all laughed about it for hours afterward. Its such a silly thing to remember from our newlywed days, but we both still think it was super funny.
Sidenote: While we continued to live in that teeny apartment for the next several months, that darn shower curtain fell down nearly once a week. It was so annoying!
Anyway, Happy Anniversary to the love of my life, Scott. Thanks for being so freakin' awesome! I love you so much!
Ps..Also, Happy Birthday to my big sister, Britteny. I hope your 32nd year is your best yet!
