Channing vs Patrick

Lately I've noticed an actor named Channing Tatum getting roles in movies like crazy.  Most recently, Magic Mike, where he played a male stripper.  Before Channing was famous he was dancing for a living as a real life stripper. One of his first movies was "Step Up", which is a "Dancing" movie, where the whole cast dance every few minutes in competition or whatnot, and all sorts of falling in love ensues.  He also does a lot of romance movies (like Leo from "The Vow")as well as tough guy movies (Shawn Mcarthur from "Fighting"). (Just a side note, I haven't actually seen any of these movies, but I get the basic idea). In 2001 Channing was named as one of the "50 most beautiful faces" by some magazine, and continues to make girls everywhere swoon (Not me personally, as I tend to go for men with less muscle, but lots of women like their men super mucle-y I guess).

Now rewind a few decades.....

Patrick Swayze grew up doing ballet in his Mother's dance studio.  He got his start dancing for "Disney on Parade". A few years later he played one of his most famous roles as Johnny on "Dirty Dancing", obviously a "dancing" movie, where he teaches a tourist how to dance and falling in love ensues.  He's been known for his romantic roles (such as Sam Wheat on "Ghost"), as well as his tough guy roles (Dalton from "Roadhouse").  (Just a side note, I HAVE seen these movies, so I know what I'm talking about).  In 1991 Patrick was chosen as one of the "50 most beautiful people in the world" by people magazine, and continued to make women swoon for the 18 years until his death in 2009 (I know my mom always REALLY liked him).

Now, I don't know about you, but I think Channing is just a Patrick wannabe.  My vote goes to Patrick!

Thank you for reading (and no doubt enjoying) this completely off topic, and pointless post about things that don't matter.  Who would you vote for?

Patrick, definitely! All these pretty boys today are all carbon copies with no actual talent. Patrick makes me want to make out. Channing makes me want to roll my eyes.

I would agree that Patrick is the "original" and Channing is the wannabe. However, I still find him to be a quite attractive wannabe. We just saw The Vow a couple nights ago. It was an intriguing plot -- it really pulled at your heart -- and I loved that it was based on a true story. (There was a brief love scene that we fast forwarded through so be warned.) But it left me with nothing but warm-fuzzy feelings toward Channing so I guess I am a fan.

Look wise I am indifferent to them both. Neither being really my type. I have to say that dance wise I prefer Channing (with the exception of the pelvic grinding in magic mike).I do enjoy the step up movies and you know I love a cheesy romantic chic flic so I have seen a lot of his movies. I did love dirty dancing and ghost but hated rode house and can't even think of any more Patrick movies off the top of my head. So to sum up I definitely vote for purple as my favorite color..... wait what was the question?
