One Year Ago

Ivy had her third open heart surgery (The Glenn Procedure). I can't believe its been a whole year! She has been doing great. She's still very small for her age, but she is consistent on her growing curve (still just under the 3rd percentile) which is all I ask. Her oxygen sats are consistently in the 90's, and she's as healthy as could be.

She's changed A LOT in the year since surgery. Her hair is growing like crazy, and she doesn't look like a baby anymore. She started scooting/crawling which eventually turned into standing up, cruising on furniture, and of course walking. Now she runs, jumps, dances, and keeps up pretty well with her big brothers.

I hesitate to say this, but she is PERFECT! She is such a great kid. She is always happy, she eats pretty much anything I give her to eat, she lays down for naps and bedtimes without shedding a single tear, she takes her meds easily without any fuss, she hardly ever fights with Dexter, and NEVER fights with Corbin, she doesn't hit, she doesn't really throw tamtrums (sometimes she tries, but gets bored with it), and she listens to everything I say. The only thing I really get close to complaining about is that she has some trouble sharing, but all kids do.

If you didn't already know that this adorable, funny, and perfect little girl was born with heart problems, you'd never figure it out! I'm so proud of my little girl. Best year EVER!
Here are some pics.

Ivy's scar last year before surgery
What it looks like now (sorry about the blur, she's so wiggly)
Immediately after surgery. It still makes me sad.
Already sitting up within twenty-four hours of surgery. What a tough cookie.
Happy baby girl two days after surgery
Happy big girl 10 months after surgery
she amazes me.

Yeah, Ivy is pretty amazing! Look at that cute smile, she's so adorable! She has such big cheeks, but almost no second chin. She's my little pumpkin faced baby girl! (I promise it's a compliment!)

It is amazing! It is because she is so loved. What troopers you and Scott are. She is such a blessing!
