So one of my favorite things about Dexter is his crazy curly hair. I loved how it was all over the place and had such cute curls on the bottom. I always thought he looked like a little blonde surfer boy. But lately, I have been getting to many "girl" comments. People I don't know saying what a beautiful little girl you have. How old is she? Have a nice day ladies! It was too much, he's a boy! Just because he is cute doesn't mean he is a girl!! So last night Scott and I did the unthinkable, and chopped off those beautiful curly locks! The only problem, neither of us know how to cut hair. We took turns holding him down while the other cut, and I am not sure about how it turned out. When we cut Corbin's hair for the first time my sister Maxine did it, because she has experience. Part of me wanted to wait til we are in Salt Lake in November to have her cut dexter's. By then his hair would be halfway down his back so we did it now. So anyway here are some pics of the whole experience. I also managed to keep a few of his curls for the scrapbook, because if his hair is anything like Corbin's, those curls will never come back. Front of hair before the cut.
Back of hair before the cut.
During the cut.
Side view after the cut, does anyone else think it looks like a trump combover?!
Hmmmm....Success?? I am not sure, but this is the finished product. At least his face is still cute!

I think he looks adorable. Good job for your first time too. I just do the buzz cut.
You are so brave. It looks really good. He's a cutie either way!
He looked cute both ways. I think that you did a pretty good job on the cut. I cut the girls bangs and they are never quite even, but they don't complain :) So who has the curly hair gene?
I know how it is wanting to keep those curls and that soft fine baby hair. And it never is the same. But he looks great! Good job you two.
He looks so much older. And every one made fun of me for never wanting to cut alexander's curls.
You are a very good writer. Just thought I would let you know from one writer to another. How do I add other people to my blog? And your kids are cute as ever.
Hi, I found your blog and wanted to post a note about congenital heart defects.
My son Jacob is 16 months old now and was born with a heart defect: Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA). We did not know before he was born and he had to be emergency transferred to Primary Children's Medical Center. He had open heart surgery at Primary's when he was 5 days old.
I am part of a local support group called Intermountain Healing Hearts. We have over 100 families with children who have various CHD and even some CHD adults in the group! These are families with moms pregnant with “heart babies”, new babies still in the hospital, babies and toddlers at home (some awaiting a second or third open heart surgery), some teenagers and also adults. What a blessing it has been to be able to talk with and ask questions of other “heart families” who truly understand what your family is going through.
The group website is: www.IntermountainHealingHearts.org
We also have a Yahoo group for email exchange.
I do not know if you have decided where you are doing to deliver your sweet baby girl yet, but we have had an amazingly positive experience at Primary Children's.
Please let me know if we can be of help to your family in anyway.

What a handsome little devil!
Good lookin' boy that is! Nice job on the haircut! We do the clippers thing (well more accurately my husband does). I figure as long as I'm not doing it I'm ok with it. Haha.
