I love being a mom, it really is everything I ever hoped it could be. I'm so glad that I don't have to be the one going to work each day. The only thing about being a stay at home mom that caught me by surprise, is the staying at home part. I know that sounds stupid, what am I talking about!? Well, before we moved to Boise we sold our giant red van instead of getting it fixed, so for about the last 5 months I have literally been staying at home. There are no parks near our apartment, Collette lives just a little too far away for us to walk over often, and I haven't really made any other friends since we moved in. It gets a little boring sometimes, and I really started to despise our tiny, little apartment very quickly. Well, yesterday was different. I had a doctors appointment and needed the car, so scott was forced to hitch a ride with Russell. It was so GREAT to pack up the boys and leave the house. When I sat in the driver's seat I realized that it was the first time I had driven in over a month! I was so excited when my appointment ended just 20 or so minutes after it started, because it meant I would have the car the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. I went to the post office to send a birthday gift that I have been procrastinating doing for a while, and also to Walmart where I was able to pick up a gift for Scott's birthday. These things sound like your everyday, boring activities for most people, but for me it was just so nice to be out of the house. I can't wait to be a "stay at home" mom when we live in a home that has nearby parks, a pool, and even walking paths, that way I won't actually have to stay at home all the time.

I know how you feel. That was my life for the first 3 years after Ryan was born. I may be going up to Montana at the end of June maybe on my way home I can make a small detour and visit you. I will have to look at a map.
I love being at home, but when I do go on outings - watch out! I take full advantage of the situation. We have started taking afternoon walks just so I feel more productive.
I feel that way in the winter time. I hate the cold so we only leave the house for church and when our cupboards are bare. Hope you find a place with a park in walking distance. We are gonna try using the free bus system more this year.
We feel that way in the SUMMER, here. When it is 110 degrees outside I hate packing 4 kids into the 200 degree car so we mostly hunker down and stay home. But I am determined this summer to do better and try to get out more -- to air conditioned places like the library or mall.
When are you moving into your new house?
Wow that is really staying at home. It's crazy how we take some things for granted. I love driving around so I can only imagine not having the chance for so long! I love seeing your families cute pictures!
