Going too fast

This summer is flying by.  Why does it seem like winter drags on and on and summer goes by in a wink.  I hate that.  I've been a big blog slacker this summer because I feel so busy with other things, but I wanted to do a quick recap of what we've been doing.

1) Lived in our new house for over a month.  We are getting used to this house. We have learned not to use the toilet in the master bathroom, wooden floors are easy to clean, but very loud in the middle of the night, the basement is a good 10-15 degrees cooler than the upstairs, and its a lot easier to keep a small kitchen clean than a big kitchen.  We have also decided that the many plumbing issues we've had are worth it for the amount of time we've already spent with family and friends.  We are loving Sandy and this has been the best summer we've had in a long time.  I still can't believe we live here again.

2) Bear Lake.  Of course we have spent a lot of time there.  It's so close to us now.  2 1/2 hours seems like nothing compared to the 6 hour drive from Boise.  We had our annual friend reunion and Brunson family reunion already, which I plan to blog about eventually, just not now.  I hope we can make it again before school starts, which is coming up fast (Aug 19!).

3) Spending time with family and friends.  We've had a lot of people over for dinner, and just hung out too.  I took a fitness class with my friend, Lisa.  We've been swimming with Grandma Marde at Crestwood, gone hiking with friends, played board games with more family. I went to a movie with my sister, Max.  And Scott's friend, Brad (Lisa's husband) moved into Scott's office to work also.  It's awesome. We're definitely making up for lost time.

4) Crocheting, reading, playing, and school.  I spend countless hours crocheting.  My latest projects included hairnets for my sister who works in a school cafeteria.  I did bun covers and snoods, pretty fun.  We started Corbin on the Harry Potter series.  He read the first two in like a week and a half!  He loves them.  He's now on the 4th and hoping to finish before school starts.  I'm sure he will.  He's a fast reader.  Did I mention he's going into 3rd grade.  He's so smart.  The other 4 kids have spent a lot of time playing together.  They all actually manage to get along a lot of the time and are so cute when they play.  Scott started school up again after a 3 month break.  He continues to be a genius.

Anyway, I think that's all so far. Before school starts we've got school registration, annual doctor appointments for the kids, tons of yard work, our anniversary, more unpacking, and hopefully lots more fun.  Here's to making the most of Summer before its gone.
