I'm sick of waiting rooms, tiny doctors offices, holding kids down to get shots or blood drawn, giving and re-giving Ivy's health history, and trying to nurse in public areas without exposing old people or small children to my breasts while waiting for doctors to call us . Its exhausting. I might have overrated my own abilities when we decided to have a fourth child.
Last week Ivy met her new endocrinologist, Dr. Marks. He seems like a super nice guy, and comes across as very knowledgeable. Ivy is very short for her age, and hasn't really grown for a long time, so she had to part with some of her blood (she didn't even cry! She's such a champ) and they are testing her for several things to find out why (hypothyroidism, Turner Syndrome, and some others). Hopefully we'll find out in the next few weeks if it is any of those things....or nothing at all besides a heart problem that is causing her to grow slowly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is nothing, but I'll take hypothyroidism over Turner Syndrome too. It seems weird to hope for one health problem over another doesn't it? Well, Turner Syndrome makes me depressed so it'd be awesome if it isn't that.
Today Corbin and Dexter had their annual well-checks. They are both very average (both are in the 50th percentile for weight and height), and in general in very good health. The only issue that came up is Corbin's constant need to use the bathroom. They did a urinalysis in the office to check for a bladder problem, but couldn't find one and referred us to a urologist to check for anything else. Hopefully we can figure out what the problem is (if there is one), and get it taken care of soon also.
In the meantime, we'll enjoy our time off from doctors appointments, and toast our apple juice to good health.
I hope you have a good week. We are going to be busy putting up Halloween decorations and working on the kids' costumes, that are sure to be "da bomb". (I know its not 1998, but what can I say? Ever since I heard that middle aged woman at Target using that phrase in a very serious tone I can't help but use it in a joking manner.)

Sorry about all the doctors. I hope everything turns out all right.
Wow, good luck with the tests...I hope everything turns out okay. My Halloween decorations are already out, have been for a few days.
Wow Chelle, I don't know how you do it! You are an amazing Mom though:) That is so weird about Corbin. We went through the exact same thing with Braxton the summer before he started Kindergarten. I felt he was always just being ridiculous about it but it even got to the point that they sent us up to Primary's for it. At the end of the day he took some pills and it was all good. Hope it all works out:)
So sorry about all of the dr visits. I can't imagine having that many dr. Hope that eventually the dr visits will lessen.
