Germs/Church/School/Tiny butts....Lots to discuss

I think the germs of our house are in the process of packing up and moving out. Which is good because I was about ready to do the same. (I got some antibiotics on Monday, I don't think there has ever been someone so happy to get antibiotics as I was!)

*****************

We haven't been to church since Ivy threw up in nursery (3 weeks ago). One of the counselors in the Bishop Brick called to set up a meeting with us this Sunday. Either he thinks we've become inactive and wants to fellowship us or Scott's getting a calling....I don't know which to root for.

School starts in 20 days. I'm really excited for the kids to get back into that routine. Although I think it will probably be hard for Dexter to adjust with Corbin being gone so long, I only see good things coming from it. I need a little "me time" these days also.

When is the best time to potty train girls? I did each of the boys at about three (Corbin may have been 3 1/2). Ivy will turn three in November, and I think she's ready to actually do it now (we tried several months ago, but gave up after a while). She tells me when she's going and asks to sit on the potty at random times now, but she's also extremely petite, and the toilet situation is going to be a difficult milestone to pass (we can get a seat cover for home, so she doesn't fall in, but then what if she needs to go at Walmart, I don't want her falling into a walmart toilet!), plus she has constipation issues from her meds (by issues I mean most of the time she can't go without lying on the floor and me pushing her legs up, much like a woman in labor)....Should I start the struggle now or wait til she's three? Give me your opinions please.

I'm glad you finally got some antibiotics! School starts here on the 15of August. I'm sure the kids will be in the routine in no time. Potty training.....I didn't like the training part. You were 3 1/2 and you weren't thrilled with it!!! I always was happy when that hurdle was done!
Good luck with the new calling!

My potty training advice (I've done 2 girls and 2 boys) is to try it early with the girls. I did mine at 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 yrs old. And they caught on pretty quick and it was done with. The boys were both after 3. Give it a good try, but she isn't ready then you can just put it aside and try in a year.
My kids all learned on a little potty seat. I like the kind that can attach to the big toilet (less mess & easier transition). Walmart is a problem. I put pull-ups on my kids for excursions like that for awhile.
