Our Fortunate Lack of Furniture

Sometimes I feel like our house seems empty and boring, like we need to fill it with more furniture. But Grandma Marde and Grandpa Ross gave our kids a Christmas gift that makes our lack of furniture seem like a good thing. Until summer comes anyway. They gave the kids a trampoline. A semi-medium sized one (8 ft diameter, 3 ft high), that we put up in our living room when they came to visit a few days after Christmas. The kids have been loving jumping on it. Especially Dex and Ivy, who would stay on that thing all day if they didn't have to eat or sleep.

Here are the kids enjoying the new toy in the front room.

I wasn't loving it in our front room (which is usually clean in case visitors drop by), so after about three days we decided it needed to go. Its FREEZING outside, so we didn't want to put it out there yet, but we didn't want to give up space in the garage for it either. We finally settled on moving it to our family/tv room. We moved all the furniture to one side of the room and put the trampoline on the other. Its cramped, but fun, and we'll only have to deal with it for a couple of months til the weather gets warmer. The kids are in heaven. I have a feeling most of you are thinking we're nuts, but they are only young once, and I'm pretty sure they will have nothing but good memories from it. Thanks for our new trampoline Gma and Gpa!

Here's Dex (who practically sleeps on it) jumping in the family room. We just got home and he didn't even take the time to take off his coat!

You are one cool Mom Chelle, I don't think I could handle it:) I told the kids in the Fall if they would part with this old playset we had that I would get them a tramp this year. And Boo never lets me forget it! Your kids will always remember this and love it.

Very cool! I told one of my kids at school whose family got a trampoline that you set yours up in the house... I'm still waiting to get a phone call from his mom wanting to know why I'd suggest it!
