What a Way to Spend the Day

Today Scott and I celebrated our wedding anniversary by coming home from the hospital. Not the greatest way to celebrate, but definitely memorable.

Scott had his appendix removed yesterday. It was a surprise stomach ache, which turned out to be appendicitis, and resulted in surgery. He made it through surgery fine, with just one small complication of being allergic to some medicine they gave him. He is recovering very well and only had to spend about 25 hours in the hospital. He's been sleeping since we got home and seems to be feeling better. Thank you to all our babysitters (Collette, Russell, and Shawn) and to those who were willing to help, and the Fenns for dinner tonight.

Sorry about the lack of pictures, but it was crazy and the camera was the furthest thing from my mind.

No pictures of his appendix being removed? Come on!

Glad he is OK! It will still be a memorable anniversary with a couple of scars to prove it.

reminds me of my anniversary a couple of years ago when I had to have emergency surgey to have my gall bladder removed. Happy anniversary.

Scary. Glad he is ok. It is interesting that you have both had your appendixes removed. Isn't it somewhat rare? How wonderful to have so many family babysitters around. Almost makes me want to move to Boise to join in the babysitting festivities :)
