Ever since we moved into our house one year ago (almost exactly a year ago in fact), we have had a MAJOR ant problem. I swear our house must have been built on top of a giant ant hill, no wait an entire ant city! They are seriously EVERYWHERE, and I freakin' hate them!!!! Not just outside, but inside too.
Not too long ago I had just cleaned our whole house and was pretty proud of how lovely it looked. I then fed the kids lunch which included a mini bag of Sun Chips. One of them managed to drop a chip on the living room carpet and I didn't notice it. We then went to the grocery store to pick up some baby formula and were gone about a half hour, when we returned home, this is what welcomed us.
That's not even that bad in comparison to the million other times this has happened. Stupid ants! I have tried everything to get rid of them. Little ant motels, raid spray, standing next to the boys while they eat with the broom and dustpan to pick up every single morsel that might fall to the ground. I even tried digging up their colony and then drowning them with boiling water and bleach. They came back every single time. So anyway, a dude came to my door the other day offering a deal to spray for ants, yellow jackets and spiders. It was like he was an angel sent from above. I am terrified of spiders and bees, and then the ants of course, were ruining my life, so I jumped at the opportunity to be rid of them all. The dude said it would take about 10 days for all the ants to die off. We are leaving for Bear Lake, and Ivy's surgery in 7, so I won't know for sure they are all gone until we get back in 3 to 6 weeks. I hope it works though, or else we might come home to giant mutant ants sleeping in our beds, and I'm sure they'll be thirsty for revenge!!

Man, those are some crazy fast and aggressive ants! Wow. I sure hope this works for you. Do they have a guarantee? I used a pest control service for awhile and they guaranteed I wouldn't see any live bugs for 3 months or they would come back and retreat over and over again. Hopefully they have something like that in your area. I would hate to have that kind of problem. I hate ants! We have more of a cockroach problem here (ants too) but not so much in the house. Ewwww. They are all sick.
Good luck! We had ants in Rexburg and they drove me crazy! Now we just have spiders. . . shudder
We have alot of ants also, we haven't had a problem with them in the house, but they are every where outside. You know how I hate wearing shoes, so every time i walk on the grass or sit on a chair outside they crawl on my feet. I hate ants, I wish I could find something to get rid of them.
Apartame (Equal, Nutra-Sweet) was originally developed as ant poison you could try feeding that to the ants and see if they kill themselves on artificial sweetener.
ant problems are no fun. but it could be way more gross...like mice or roaches...now that's disgusting.
can't wait to see you! drive safely!
We have always had major ant problems as well. For the most part outside though. But you would not believe how many. I have the willies just writing about it. Earwigs too! Good luck!
I too hate ants! We used to have them in Vegas and I couldn't stand it. It didn't matter how clean I got the hosue - they were always there. Nasty little critters.
Yeah, the ant problem at our old house was part of the reason we moved. We had exterminators come twice and tried every home remedy under the sun. I hope you have better luck.
We use this weird stuff that is yellow and crumbly, like food. The ants take it to their home and feeds it to the queen and it is suppose to kill all of the clan cause they are lost without their queen. Or so it says on the bag, I'm not quit sure what it is called.
