Okay, so I know I've been complaining about the whole potty training thing a lot lately, but I finally have good news! I got some good advice from Scott's sister Heidi on how she potty trained her kids, so this weekend we tried it.
On Friday we went to the store and bought Corbin a present, one that he picked himself, and a whole bunch of Capri Sun drinks. Anyway, starting on Sat we put him in underwear instead of a pullup, made him drink a bunch of the capri suns, and let him play with the new toy until the first time he peed in his undies, then we took the toy away and told him he'd get it back as soon as he went in the potty. To make a long story short, he went in his underwear like seven more times that day, and not once in the potty.
On sunday, corbin woke us up asking if he could turn on some cartoons, we said yes and he and Dex went in the living room. After a few minutes he came back in holding the diaper he'd worn during the night, said hi, and then ran back in the living room. At this point I decided to drag my butt out of bed and see what he was doing. I walked in the living room and there he was sitting on his little potty. He said, "I'm going pee mommy" I said okay, thinking Yeah Right! But then he stood up, and what do you know, he did it! I freaked out in celebration, we got his toy down from the fridge, and put a bunch of stickers on the potty, and then the whole rest of the day he went in the potty, not having a single accident! Even when he had to go poop, he did that in the potty too! I don't know what happened, it's like all of the sudden it just made sense. I am so proud of our big boy, and incredibly relieved!
