Well here I am at 3:00 in the morning, with my cute, but terribly annoying 10 month old. As I sat in the rocking chair holding him for the past 2 1/2 hours,(which didn't even work anyway cause he's wide awake now) I reflected on my reasons for becoming a parent in the first place. Well, first of all I didn't get pregnant on purpose and therefore didn't really have a choice, but other than that.......I always knew I wanted to be a mom, and don't get me wrong, it really is great. The last few nights........ and days, on the other hand, have been brutal! I am working on weening the baby from nursing to get ready for our mexican cruise coming up, and I am also trying to potty train Corbin. I don't know what I was thinking doing both these huge tasks at the same time, but I am.
Corbin hasn't peed in the potty at all so far, and has only pooped once. My days are filled with me saying to him, "Do you need to try and use the potty?" and "I think you should try to go pee now." These statements are followed by 5 to 10 minutes of supervising him in the bathroom while he "tries" to go, just to be frustrated 30 seconds later by him going in his pull-up or underwear.
Dex is doing well with the weening in the day time, but at night he won't even look at a sippy cup and totally flips when I try to give him one. I keep thinking I should just let him cry it out in the crib, but since we are in a small two bedroom apartment he now shares a room with Corbin. How can I justify waking one up so the other one can try (most likely unsuccessfully) to fall asleep on his own. I kinda don't know what to do at this point, but I am sure I will figure it out!
I am glad that I am a mother and a wife, and that I have two adorable boys. It's just hard sometimes, especially at 3:00am.

Hey Chelle,
Do you have a reward system worked out with Corbin? (with my kids I would try not to use food, so as not to start unhealthy habits of rewarding themselves with food.) but we did stickers or pieces to Mr potato head. Whatever makes him excited. As for the weening, that always sucked and I didnt do it as long as you so I dont think I have anything constructive for that one. Sorry. Good luck. It will all work out cuz you are a really good Mommy.
Miss you,
Maxine
