Space Derby

Back in March in scouts Corbin got to do a space derby.  It was so much more fun than the pinewood derby!  His little rocket was awesome and flew to the end almost every time!  Good Job Corbin!

Ivy Gets Pierced Ears

Ivy heard me discussing my ear piercings and being the super cool chick she is, asked if she could get her ears pierced too.  Of course I said yes and we headed to Claire's in the mall and got it done.  Not surprisingly my tough little girl didn't shed a tear and was totally delightful and now she loves her hello kitty earrings.  She looks so cute!

Corbin's spelling bee

Back in February Corbin participated in the 4th/5th grade spelling bee.  He had planned on not participating since it was optional (and he's quiet and shy), but when his class did the preliminary rounds he won (without even looking at  the word list) and made it to the "big show" the next week.  So we got to studying the list so he could compete.  It was so fun to watch him during the competition.  He was the second student to spell and when the other kid in front of him got out in the first round, he ended up being the first to spell for each round.  If you know Corbin, you know that was pretty brave of him.

Anywho, if I remember correctly, he made it four rounds and tied for 2nd place among the 4th graders (and like 6th or 7th place overall or something like that).  He did amazingly well under pressure.  So proud of him!

Winter gets the boot.

This has been the warmest winter I can remember EVER!  I can only remember one good snow storm that came on Christmas day, but it melted quickly and no more came.  I'm not complaining, I hate winter, so the more sunshine the better, its just weird.

We put up the new trampoline in January because it was so warm, and by February we didn't even need jackets some days and also got the bikes out and tuned up!  We have tried really hard not to waste the sunshine, just in case winter decides to come back, and it has been so awesome.  Makes me even more excited for Summer.

Crazy Hair Days

The Girls and I decided to get crazy with our hair.  I did my old standby of red and black (which is how my hair was for YEARS before I got distracted by having like a billion kids).  It felt good, like I was my old self again.  The girls got some fun pink streaks in their hair.  All Ivy's friends at school were jealous.  So fun to be a girl!

Fifteen years of bliss.

Back in January Scott and I celebrated 15 years together.  I can't believe it's been that long!  It still feels like new love.  I'm a lucky woman to have such a great guy by my side.  Here are some fun flashbacks to the good ol' dating days, and the last one from this christmas.  Still unbelievably happy.

Christmas 2014

Catch up time!  We had a very lovely Christmas this year.  We were happy to have Scott's parents here for Christmas Eve dinner, where we had a fun little nativity play with the kids and they had a blast.  I also crocheted this fancy peppermint afghan this year, which was a difficult project, but turned out awesome.
