Back in February Corbin participated in the 4th/5th grade spelling bee. He had planned on not participating since it was optional (and he's quiet and shy), but when his class did the preliminary rounds he won (without even looking at the word list) and made it to the "big show" the next week. So we got to studying the list so he could compete. It was so fun to watch him during the competition. He was the second student to spell and when the other kid in front of him got out in the first round, he ended up being the first to spell for each round. If you know Corbin, you know that was pretty brave of him.
Anywho, if I remember correctly, he made it four rounds and tied for 2nd place among the 4th graders (and like 6th or 7th place overall or something like that). He did amazingly well under pressure. So proud of him!
