Over the last few days I realized something. Toddlers are little miracles. Let me explain.
Echo is 2 years, 4 months and 20 days old. The age of mischief and mayhem. She literally destroys everything she can get her hands on. In fact, on her first day of nursery in our new ward the nursery leader called her a "distructo", and I couldn't deny it. She empty's all laundry baskets, drawers, cabinets, cupboards, the trash can and everything else. She enjoys tearing down and hiding my "Happy Halloween" and "Home" block letters. She loses the tv remote on a near constant basis, sometimes for an entire day (like today). And if I clean an area of the house she makes it her goal to mess it back up within 4 minutes. Oh yes, she also quite enjoys playing in the dirt and getting it in her hair, especially right after she gets out of the bath. And I mustn't forget her preference of pooping during naptime so that when its time for her to get up and I open the door the smell of her soiled diaper practically punches me in the face. I love it when that happens.
This busy little girl keeps me on my toes, that's for sure. Especially when I have an even younger baby that likes to follow her around and do those things too!
Here comes the miracle part, and the biggest point.
Echo is 2 years, 4 months and 20 days old. The age of cuteness and wonder. She says and does the sweetest and cutest things I have ever seen. She is very polite, especially for a 2 year old. She NEVER forgets to say "Thank you, Momma." when I help her with things or get her things or kiss her boo boo's.
She always says she's sorry if she hurts someone or bumps them or thinks she bumps them. She is bright and cheery pretty much all the time. She greets everyone with a very happy "HI!" when she sees them, and will literally say it to each person individually. She also says "Love you" regularly. She speaks in full sentences (sometimes mixed with that 2 year old gibberish that I love), and can carry on mini conversations. She also loves to call the other kids up for dinner by yelling "DINNER!" at the top of the stairs in this sweet little voice that I can't describe but that melts my heart whenever I hear it. She adores "Corby" and would follow him to the ends of the earth, and is also a big fan of Ivy. I don't think she's too sure about Dexter and Malcolm yet. She's curious about everything and I can already tell that she is one smart little cookie.
I'm so glad that toddlers can be little miracles. If the awesome didn't come with the not-so-awesome I don't think I would have had 5 children!
