A couple of things in recent weeks have made me wonder why I blog. This is what I have come up with.
- It keeps my family and friends up to date on what I'm doing in this city that most of them have never visited. I don't get to see or talk to everybody as much as I'd prefer and this is a good way of keeping in touch. Now they all just need to blog more so I feel in the loop in their lives (hint hint).
- It makes me happy because I love to write. I write in a personal journal often and have done so for the past 17 years, I like writing stories, I wrote lots of teenage angst type of poetry in high school, and I'm currently writing a book about my experiences with motherhood. Its just a hobby that I enjoy!
- There's a little pressure from grandparents for pictures. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but its definitely a reason to keep going. They all live far away and they want pictures and this is an easy way for everyone to get to see them!
- I like to think that its a good personal and family history. Last year I read Scott's Grandma Jensen's personal life history and I loved it. A few years before that I read Grandma Jensen's parents life history's and enjoyed them as well. I think its interesting and fun to look back at how life was and is for other people, and I think it will be fun for my kids and grandkids to look back and see how life was for us....maybe this is a bit too optimistic, but I don't care, I'm going to think it anyway.
- Because I like the comments!! I'm not going to lie, I like when people read my blog and have something to say about it. Its not the main or even close to the main reason I do blog, but it keeps me going sometimes. So feel free to leave comments and leave them often.
Happy blogging everybody. I hope you all have a wonderful wednesday!

I like your reasons cuz their mine too! I was sitting putting Spencie to bed last night and realized that you should know what you are having (that is if you choose to find out). So do you find out? Have you found out with your previous kids? Do you like to be surprised? Just wondering if I missed a post with an announcement or if you don't find out :)
I love that you do this. Even though I'm usually around for all this stuff, I like to see how you present it to everyone else. I love all the pictures! I know it's difficult to continue adding more posts, but you are so good at it. I don't know how you do it.
I ditto what you and Janelle said. Those are my reasons for blogging too. Have you printed out your blog into a book yet? That way your kids can read it (someday).
I enjoy reading your blog and getting to know you and your kids better.
Love this post!! Keep up the blogging! It's so fun to feel like we talk everyday!
(Also, just a suggestion - do you think you could change your background on your blog? It's kind of hard to read the words because they're dark and so is the background. Just a suggestion...)
Okay I got your message. When I was a kid I remember going out to the mailbox to get the mail, and I remember how happy mother was whenever she would get a letter from grandma Leany or grandma Eyre. She would read them and then would sit down and write a letter back. So I felt like this is like a present day way of writing letters. But I seldom get anyone to write back. You are the only one who leaves a comment, and I felt like who cares, why bother. But your reasons are good for blogging, and I do enjoy reading them. You are talented at what you do!
Do you remember that story we co-wrote in 4th grade about Miss Alldred getting married? I think you were also working on something to do with attacking killer jellyfish. I knew way back then that you were going to be a great writer!
I write my blog for me, too, but also for the comments... it's nice to know that there's an audience out there somewhere!
