Ivy has proven over her last 8 days in the hospital that she is still wolverine baby. After a rough day yesterday, waiting for a sedated echo, and not being allowed to eat because of it, we were ready to be done with the hospital. So imagine our excitement of being let out today!! Scott and I walked off the elevator into the Surgical unit, and they informed us we could leave even before we walked in Ivy's room. So exciting. We were home (well, Marde's home in Sandy) before 1:00pm. Ivy is doing well, although she is going to have to be on oxygen for a while again, and she got one new medication. We have to be careful picking her up and putting her down for about six weeks, but other than that, we can play and be normal again. We are so happy with her, she amazes us everyday. We are going to stay here until the weekend to give her chest a little more time to heal before she's strapped into the carseat for such a long drive, but at least we don't have to go to the hospital anymore, or leave her there crying and broken hearted at our walking away. 8 days is WAY better than 7 weeks, we'll take it!
Last night, after she was finally allowed to eat again.
After we arrived this morning. She was so happy to see daddy, who she hadn't seen since Sunday.
Getting ready to go.
Bye, bye Drs, and nurses, I won't miss you!
Eating and playing with her shoes right before we left. Life is good again!

Yay!!! That is the best news ever. She really is a little miracle baby. I am so happy for you guys and that sweet girl. That would be so hard to know she is hungry and not be able to feed her, but worth it all now that she is done! These pictures of her are so dang cute!
I'm so happy for you guys. She is so tough. Wolverine baby indeed.
Yeah, I'm so happy she is doing so great!! What a strong little cookie, how can she be that happy after everything she went though this last week. She's so sweet!!
Looking at the pictures it's hard to imagine she went through such a major surgery. Glad all went well:)
I'm so glad that you are "home" already. 8 days is definitely better than 7 weeks. I hadn't thought about how putting her in a car seat must be uncomfortable for her. She is amazing. By the way my mom wants to be invited to your blog. Her email is stampsaz@comcast.net
I LOVE the second to last pic - ADORABLE!! I'm so glad she is doing good and got to get out of the stinkin' 'pital
I am so glad you got to leave the hospital sooner than expected. I think the healing process is significantly faster when the child is in an enviroment where they feel the most secure and comfortable. You guys have been so blessed with such a vibrant, strong and happy little girl. I pray for her recovery to continue to be as speedy as it has already been. Love you guys!!!
Rochelle, thanks for letting me into your circle. I have missed your blog and seeing your family's events. Little Ivy looks so cute. What a trooper. We pray for her speedy and uneventful recovery. We pray for your whole family.
