Don't feel intimidated Maxine, it's not a person, your still my best friend. And for those of you that didn't know Maxine was my best friend, are you really shocked? Anyway, beside the point.
I just wanted to post an ode to my newest favorite thing. And before I say what it is, I want to tell all those people who gave us gifts for our new baby, I really loved them all, but this one is the most helpful. My baby Sling!! I freakin' love this thing! Lisa Bollwinkel made it for us, and it is so awesome! I wear it so much that when I am not wearing it I feel like I have a ghost sling on, because I still feel like it is there. I never could have guessed what a life saver it would turn out to be. I just put Ivy in it (she instantly falls asleep) and I can get most of the things I need to do, done, exept sweeping the kitchen floor, or working out, but pretty much everything else. We would drown in a sea of laundry or suffocate on a mountain of dirty diapers if we didn't have it.
The best thing though, is that when we have to go to one of the many (and there are many) doctor appointments for Ivy, I can put her in the sling, and hold the boys' hands so they don't run off while we are walking into the building. And once we are inside, people don't assume they can touch her or even look at her (It must make people uncomfortable since she is basically sitting on my chest/stomach area, and they couldn't see her face anyway). I am able to avoid the inevitable, "Whats that tube in her nose for? Whats wrong with her?" questions. So I just wanted to thank Lisa again for the world's most helpful gift ever, thanks Lisa!

That thing is awesome! I definitely need to get one of those before our number 3 comes along. I'm checkin online for a pattern!
I have been thinking about getting one of those for the next one, and it sounds like a must have if you want to be able to control the other 2 kids. I am sick of hauling that car seat around anyway.
I always thought that thing was super cute. Glad it helps out.
Wow your hair is getting so long, I just noticed that in the pics. That baby sling is way cool, I totally could have used something like that!!
It makes me want to have another baby just so I could get one. It would be so comforting for you and Ivy to be so close all the time. She probably feels like she is still a part of you. I feel like I havent earned the best friend thing lately. I wish there was something I could do for you from so far away. If you think of something let me know.
That is super cute. (and you're super cute in it!!) Kudos to your friend who made it. She's got skills.
What a lifesaver. That was one thing that always drove me crazy was trying to carry the baby and make sure the other kids didn't run away.
Oh! I love those things! If/when I have children I am so getting one. I'm glad it's working out for you.
You are too nice. I am so glad that you are using it and it works well. I am definitely going to have to make one for myself when I have another baby. That is so cute that Corbin and Dex wear it too. Little Ivy looks so cute peeking out. Hope everything continues to be manageable. We miss you down here!
yes, much thanks to lisa! i love the sling! theo sleeps like a dream in it too. it's perfect for church, no one asks to hold him, since he's so snuggly & asleep in it.
we miss you and are glad things are going well.
I loved my baby sling too. I'm so tempted to whip it out and still use it, but considering my baby is 19 lbs, I don't know if my shoulder/back could handle it.
